For prospective or current yoga teachers, passionate & curious students, or anyone wanting to incorporate restorative practices and informed self care into their life.
Current teachers: learn to teach a new style of class, or integrate Yin & Restorative practices into your current offering. Hours are eligible for credit with the Yoga Alliance.
This training will include Pranayama, Meditation & Asana Practice, Theory & Discussion, Application to the teaching process, and homework assignments.
We will cover: Foundational Principles, History & Philosophy, Anatomy, Physiology, Training & Technique, Anatomical variations, modifications, and how to skillfully use props to empower your teaching and your personal practice.

Daily schedule for both weekends:
- Fri 6:30 pm – 10:00 pm
- Sat 11:30 am – 9:30pm (Break between 4:00 – 5:45 pm)
- Sun 11 am – 8:30 pm (Break between 3:00 – 6:00 pm)
YIN Course Content:
- Learn to slow down, rest, create space, restore balance, and connect to a sense of ease from
- Explore the history, philosophy, and intentions of Yin Yoga
- Yin/Yang theory: how it relates to the body and the practice of yoga
- Meditation and breath work. Exploring techniques in mantra, mudra, and pranayama, with
relevance to this quiet practice
- An introduction to structural anatomy and how it relates to Yin yoga. We will look specifically
into the fascial system, how our bodies are intricately connected, and the implications of Yin
- An anatomical look at bone variation, joint structure, meridians, and internal systems
- The Theory of Exercise; the physiological impact of Yin Yoga on the bones, joints and soft
- Detailed study of Yin Asana; benefits and contraindications of each posture
- Intelligent sequencing
- How to effectively use props, create modifications, make the practice accessible to a variety of
body types, and support healing
- Holding space, setting boundaries, supportive language and guidance
- How to design an effective practice based on the student’s needs and the intended outcome

Restorative Course Content:
- Explore the history, philosophy, and intentions of Restorative Yoga
- Learn to slow down, rest, create space, restore balance, access inner alignment and harmony
- Nervous system function, regulation and balance
- The physiological effects of Restorative Yoga – Measurable and immeasurable benefits
- The Autonomic Nervous System and the Relaxation Response
- Understanding the effects of stress on the body, using the practice as an antidote to stress
- Listening to the innate intelligence of the body
- Meditation and breath work, exploring how this contributes to balancing the nervous system
- How to skillfully use props to support the body and invite a deep release
- Holding space, optimizing the environment, using supportive language and guidance
- Create an individualized practice with specific therapeutic intentions, for yourself or others
