About The Program
Participants will be inspired and empowered to develop and transform as teachers and even more so, as individuals. This training offers an in depth understanding of traditional hatha yoga asanas, study of the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali and Bhagavad Gita, and a lived experience of physical and energetic alignment in action.
Along with a rich foundation in anatomy and alignment, you will dive into sequencing, philosophy, physical and energetic anatomy, chanting, pranayama, self-care practices, and teaching methodology such as teaching with confidence and how to teach to every-body including those with special needs such as students with injuries or who are pregnant.

About North Yoga, Squamish
North Yoga is tucked in the windy corridor of Squamish, B.C, owned by a dynamic duo incoming from Vancouver, Gabriel Shamash, inspiring yoga teacher and his rockstar honey Jasmin Parkin The studio space is peaceful and bright with stunning mountain views, hard wood floors and plenty of candles to keep it aglow on rainy days. If weather permits we will be also be doing the odd afternoon day trip to sit and study together at some of the town’s gorgeous landmarks.
Option 1: Become a 200Hr Yoga Alliance Certified Teacher after successfully completing all 3 modules.

Option 2: Study a la carte:
For seriously-curious students who want to immerse in the practice and conversation of all things Hatha-Yoga, in bite sized chunks. Hours count towards Yoga Alliance Continuing Education and/or your 200hr Certification process.
Cost per immersion: $1100
Option 3: AM Yoga Immersions:
These morning primers are designed for regular students interested in immersing in 2 hours of deep practice who are not taking the teacher training.
Expect a full-spectrum 2 hour progressive practice regiment that consists of pranayama-breathing exercises, mantra, 20-30mins of meditation, and hot-sweaty-asana that will leave you feeling strong like bull, limber, AWAKE, uplifted and primed for your day.
Participate in 3, 5 or 7-day morning practices from 6am – 8:00am

The Bhagavad Gita – You will be asked to read and have a summation to be presented in Module 3, the other books we will chip away at during our time together.
Yoga Sutras of Patanjali – there are many interpretations, choose one version you resonate with. You do not have to read this ahead of time.
Some of my favourite interpretations are:
- Yoga, Power + Spirit. Patanjali the Shaman by Alberto Villoldo – It’s the best! and now only available on kindle, which can be read through a kindle app on ipad.
- Swami Satchidananda
Physical Anatomy – one of your choosing, here are ones I recommend choosing from:
- The Key Muscles of Yoga by Ray Long
- Yoga Anatomy by Leslie Kaminoff
Recommended, not required Reading:
