A Soft Place to Land - Shamanic Soul Healing, Ceremonial Cacao, Sacred Sound
Sept 29, Nov 3, Jan 5 ~ 7:00pm - 10:00pm
We all need a soft place to land right? A sanctuary in which we can slow down, rest and digest, and reorient ourselves back to the richness of the present moment, and the rhythm of Mama Earth. A place where we can let go of the demands and pressures of fast-paced, high-speed, on-demand living.
Our evening will begin with the sharing of ceremonial Cacao to support us in letting go into the soft landing place of our hearts. As we sink into the healing soundscape of gongs, singing bowls, steel tongue drums, and soul song transmission, each person will receive a shamanic healing, energy cleanse and flower blessing. This will allow us to release heaviness and return to a sweeter, more refined state, creating space for a renewed relationship with our Soul.
Join us for a unique experience and a beautiful way to reattune to love, bring compassion to what needs our attention, and open our hearts and vision to our higher selves.

Yoga + Sound // Sina and DJ Rave Coach
Sat, Dec 15 // 6.30-8.30pm
Sound and music have always been used to alter, enhance, and elevate experiences. The great yogis of the past have known how an external sound experience (mantra + nada yoga) can guide into controlling the inner sound vibrations (thoughts + stillness). Bringing this practice into a modern context, we will be holding space for a fun, high vibe yoga experience where movement meets music, breath meets sounds, and stillness meets silence.
Rave Coach (aka Brittany Sharpe) is a local Squamish DJ and resident yoga teacher at North Yoga. Bringing together yoga and music, this collabora- tion has been a long time passion project for Sina and Rave Coach. // Sina is a senior certified Dharma Yoga teacher and a direct disciple of the Yoga master Sri Dharma Mittra. Although he pulls from many lineages and teachers, his goal is One. He is dedicated to exploration so he may share the Universal Teachings that lie in the hearts of all beings. He guides through the ancient techniques that have been taught by sages and seers of the past, refined through his own experience and presented in a way for the modern age that will allow others to access their connection to the deepest innermost Self as it manifests into their own lives, in their own way

The Yogic Mind // Vinyasa Krama & The Yogā-Sūtras
A Weekend Intensive - January 25-27, 2019
4 x 2.5 hr Workshops with Whit Hornsberger at North Yoga, Squamish
Over the course of the weekend we will explore the extensive sequencing of the Vinyasa Krama method of Krishnamacharya, dissect the psychological framework of the Classical Yoga tradition, and apply the most relevant and potent of Patañjali’s sūtras for mental well-being to an extensive, full-spectrum vinyasa practice (asana – pranayama – meditation).
We engage w these ancient tools and practices capable of revealing the inherent wisdom within human consciousness, providing a reference point from which our own innate intelligence can contemplate the existential query which has driven the tradition of yoga for centuries: Who am I?
Vinyasa Krama (movement and sequence methodology) as expounded by the legendary father of modern yoga, Sri T. Krishnamacharya is considered the most comprehensive representation of Krishnamacharya’s teachings of yogasana. Built upon the foundation and existential wisdom of Patañjali’s Yoga-Sūtras, Vinyasa Krama is thus considered a classical form of yoga.
The Yoga-Sūtras are the systematization of thousands of years of liberation-seeking inquiry practiced upon the Indian subcontinent. A compendium of wisdom, the Yoga-Sūtras are a detailed psychosomatic methodology which promises to reveal and then extinguish the limitations of the conditioned mind, not through blind faith, but through direct personal experience.
This intensive is designed for and accessible to all levels of practitioners and geared specifically towards those with a curiosity for the enigmatic nature of human existence and a passion to evolve beyond the limitations of the conditioned mind.
Whit Hornsberger is a student and teacher of the wisdom traditions of Classical Yoga and Theravada Buddhism. A advocate of traditional teachings, Whit expounds the ancient wisdom of these lineages in a relevant manner, making them readily accessible to students at every stage of the path. Whit resides on Galiano island B.C and is a passionate surfer, traveler and lover of nature.
