SELF-MYOFASCIAL RELEASE + YOGA ASANAS
Mar 3, Mar 31, Apr 28
With Chelsea Lee at North Yoga
This 2 hour workshop will combine the science of self-myofascial release (SMR) with the brilliance of yoga asana to address the fascia of the muscles most commonly used while skiing and snowboarding – erector spinae, gluteal muscles, psoas (hip flexors), quadriceps, hamstrings, and inner and outer thighs. Fascia is a connective sheath that contributes to mobility, strength as well as communication between your muscles and brain. SMR is a proven technique for recovery from activity and injury prevention – all things essential for a long and successful season on the mountain! Participants will first be introduced to the principles and techniques of SMR, then will be led through a practice that intelligently weaves together SMR and asana.

With Rebekka Walker at North Yoga
Spring is a season of birth, new beginnings, renewal, and growth—a time for the earth to make manifest the latent potential within all things. Seeds are germinating, flowers budding, insects buzzing, leaves unfurling. And despite our growing separation from the natural world, we are still deeply affected by this gentle stirring around us. Our physiology senses a natural opportunity for a fresh, clean start; our bodies are primed to lighten things up, cleanse ourselves of any accumulated imbalances, and rejuvenate our deepest tissues. Join Rebekka for a series of master classes designed to awaken, engage and enliven. Combining the elemental alchemy of ayurveda, with seasonal archetypes, symbols and stories, each session will include asana, pranayama, kriya, mantra and meditation designed to awaken your fullest expression of all things spring.

Conscious Dance is a journey of self-discovery through music, dance and movement. It’s used for stress release, exercise, personal exploration and expression, meditation, empowerment, strengthening intuition, and having fun! There is no choreography and no right or wrong way to move. It’s about moving your body in any way you feel compelled too move. There is a brief ritual check-in circle to start the dance session before the music begins. A variety of music is played throughout the hour, however it follows an outline beginning with slow rhythms to ease people into their bodies. The music builds in intensity to its peak and then slows down to silence. After the music stops there is a ritual check-out to close the group. // Have a blast and please respect yourself, the people and the space.
